Account Aggregator Network Links 338 Million Accounts; RBI Targets Interoperability by December

The update

India's Account Aggregator framework has linked 338.04 million accounts, according to an October 2026 report. The RBI plans to make NBFC-Account Aggregators interoperable and to include bank deposit information in Consolidated Account Statements, with a target date of 31 December 2026.

Sahamati reported 269 million-plus consents processed and 780-plus financial institutions onboard by September 2025.

Why it matters

Interoperability should make it easier for lenders and wealth platforms to fetch consented data regardless of which aggregator a customer uses, speeding up underwriting and onboarding.
