The update
The India Energy Storage Alliance reports 2.55 million EV sales in FY2025-26, up 25%, at 8.3% of total registrations. JMK Research, using Vahan data, puts penetration at about 8.5%, with electric two-wheelers making up nearly 58% of EV sales.
Why it matters
NITI Aayog's roadmap aims for 30% EV sales by 2030. Growth on that scale will need charging, fleet and payment software to keep pace.
